Brazil defender David Luiz claims the motivation to take up a new challenge was the reason he made his move across London this summer from Chelsea to Arsenal. The 32-year-old, who was in his second spell at Stamford Bridge after a stint with Paris Saint-Germain, surprised many with his late move from the Blues to the Gunners before the summer window closed. Chelsea can look forward to Champions League football this season, while Arsenal missed out on Europe’s premier club competition and will have to settle for another campaign in the Europa League. Speaking about his decision to leave Chelsea, Luiz felt he was ready of a new challenge after being told by manager Frank Lampard he would not earn regular football with the Blues. “I am a guy with ambition and that is why I moved. I like a new a challenge and new things in my life,” said Luiz. “This is what gives me oxygen and gives me motivation and also to really enjoy this moment. “I could have chosen a comfortable zone and got money and be cool and that is it.” Arsenal currently sit in second place, just behind frontrunners Liverpool on goal difference, after winning
