Gambling industry veteran Mike Lally has joined the team of online slots developer Lightning Box as the head of account management for the company’s online vertical.
Based in London, Mr. Lally has been tasked with looking after the slots specialist’s RMG casino clients. He is also responsible for the company’s growing commercial interests among lotteries in North America.
Previously, Mr. Lally was responsible for the rollout of more than 1,500 casino games with leading online gambling operators at OpenBet. After spending six years at the company, he then moved to Betdigital, a subsidiary of SG Digital. At Betdigital, Mr. Lally was responsible for growing the company’s digital business.
Mr. Lally is joining Lightning Box as the company has just announced the internal promotion of Michael Maokhamphio to Operations Manager. Mr. Maokhamphio, too, previously worked at SG Digital.
Of the appointment of Mr. Lally, Lightning Box CEO and co-founder Peter Causley said in a statement that they are honored to have someone of their new account management head’s industry experience join their team “given his excellent reputation for customer service and getting the job done.”
Of the promotion of Mr. Maokhamphiou, Mr. Causley said that they are blessed to be able to make him responsible for their product rollout and software implementation as he has been a tremendous addition to their team and deserves the promotion.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Lally said that he is delighted to be joining Lightning Box’s team as the company boasts great reputation in the industry for its high-quality and engaging content.
The industry veteran added that he is looking forward to “renewing acquaintances with many of the key people with whom I’ve developed great relationships” and introducing himself to new fellow industry folks as they continue to grow Lightning Box’s successful business.
Based in Sydney, Australia, Lightning Box is an independent studio that develops and supplies multi-channel video slots to the international casino gaming industry. The company was established in 2004 by Mr. Causley and David Little who had previously worked as game designers at Aristocrat and IGT.
As mentioned above, growing Lightning Box’s commercial interests among lotteries across North America would be among Mr. Lally’s responsibilities as a head of the company’s account management.
Late last year, the slots development specialist extended its existing partnership with SG Digital, the online gambling division of Scientific Games, to be able to tap into the lucrative North American market. The deal saw Lightning Box enter a brand new territory as North America’s gambling industry is having an eventful time lately.
As part of the extended agreement between SG Digital and the Australian slots studio, the latter was able to enter New Jersey’s regulated iGaming market. The state legalized online gambling in 2013 and the sector has seen a stable growth over the past six years, driving an overall growth and bringing additional funds to the state’s coffers.
