Barcelona forward Luis Suarez insists his side’s Copa del Rey semi-final tie with Valencia is far from over despite their 1-0 victory in the first leg on Thursday. Uruguay international Suarez netted the only goal of the game midway through the second half at the Camp Nou and the Blaugrana will now take a narrow advantage into the second leg at the Mestalla next week. Barca have been the dominant force in the Copa del Rey over recent years – they have won the competition three years on the spin – but Suarez insists their place in this year’s final is still far from assured. “It’s a minimal advantage that we have because there are 90 minutes left,” Suarez told reporters. “Valencia at home are always stronger and even more so in a Copa semi-final.” Suarez is currently enjoying a rich vein of form – he has scored 12 goals in his last 10 appearances in all competitions – and admits he is delighted to be contributing on a regular basis.
