Sergio Ramos was embroiled in a heated exchange with club president Florentino Perez after Real Madrid were dumped out of the Champions League earlier this week, reports claim. The Spain defender was suspended for the second leg of the last-16 clash with Ajax at the Bernabeu, and was powerless to help as his colleagues succumbed to a 4-1 defeat. That means the Dutch giants progressed 5-3 on aggregate and ended Los Blancos’ three-year reign as European champions. Manager Santiago Solari appears to be the proverbial dead man walking, with the capital club sitting third in the La Liga standings and 12 points behind fierce rivals Barcelona. According to Spanish outlet Marca, Perez got stuck into the players in the dressing room following the Ajax debacle and suggested they were to blame for the poor results. Ramos is said to have defended his team-mates and argued with the president that they should have signed a striker to replace the departed Cristiano Ronaldo. It is said that Perez threatened to sell Ramos who hit back by saying that he would leave if they paid off his contract. Whether that happens only time will tell but Real need to get back to winning
